How many stops are there?

Our full-day LA City Tours and LA City Tours from Anaheim include a live guide while on the vehicle and 6 self-guided stops. Destination stops include Santa Monica Pier, Venice Beach, Beverly Hills/Rodeo Dr., Griffith Park Observatory/Hollywood Sign, and Hollywood Blvd./Walk of Fame. Our lunch stop is at The Original Farmers Market at The Grove. Each stop allows you to explore the area on your own and at your own pace.

How long are the stops?

Destination stops are 30-40 minutes. Lunch is usually around an hour or just over (added time for busier days).

Between stops, your knowledgeable guide will give you fun facts and information about all areas we visit throughout the day.

Where do you visit on a LA City tour?

A complete list of where we visit on our city tour can be found on our LA City Tour page. Destination stops include Santa Monica Pier, Venice Beach, Beverly Hills/Rodeo Dr., Griffith Park Observatory/Hollywood Sign, and Hollywood Bl/Walk of Fame. When we stop at our lunch destination, you’ll see that you have many options available to you. Even if you’re on a strict diet, you’ll find something yummy at The Original Farmer’s Market at The Grove.

What is there to see in Venice Beach?

If you’re wondering what there is to see on our tour of Venice Beach, the answer is simple — there’s plenty! Venice Beach is the birthplace of surfing, so it’s only natural that you’ll often see surfers dotting the water. If you like to people-watch, you’ll want to head directly to the boardwalk, where you’ll typically see people skating, cycling, and playing volleyball or basketball.

You can also check out Muscle Beach when you visit Venice Beach. You can take a seat in the stands near the competition stage or watch people work out from a viewpoint that’s outside the beach’s dumbbell-shaped fitness facility. Even if you’re not a skateboarding enthusiast, you’ll want to swing by the Venice Skate Park to see some of the most thrilling skateboarding action you’ll find anywhere.

What can I do in Beverly Hills?

There’s a whole lot to do and see at our Beverly Hills tour stop! With so many stars and starlets calling Beverly Hills home, star gazing is a popular activity in the city. Of course, shopping along Rodeo Drive is something many of our guests enjoy doing, too. We’ll drop you off a few blocks away from Rodeo Drive, near the Beverly Hills sign. From there, it’s just a quick walk to start shopping with the rich and famous.

What are some of the specific sights I’ll get to see during my full-day Los Angeles tour?

How does Grauman’s Chinese Theatre sound? Opened in 1927, this iconic theater has been used to launch countless films, including “Star Wars” in 1977. Today, the theater can seat more than 900 people, and it has one of the biggest movie screens on the continent. Just outside the theater’s doors, you can see the signatures, handprints, and footprints of a wide range of stars. These impressions date back to the 1920s through the present day.

You’ll also be able to stroll down the Hollywood Walk of Fame and search for your favorite celebrities’ stars along the walkway. Don’t hesitate to take a selfie or a family photo with the stars of your choice to cement the memories you’ll make throughout your LA day tour.

Have you always wanted to know what it’s like to walk the red carpet? While we can’t roll out the red carpet for you, we can tell you that you’ll get to visit the host site of the Oscars, Dolby Theatre, during your full-day LA tour.

Do you pick up or drop off at LAX airport?

No, we are generally prevented from entering LAX airport. We do pick up at many hotels in the vicinity of LAX. Many of these hotels offer a shuttle from the airport. A complete list of hotel pickups can be found HERE.

What do I need to bring for the tour?

Check the weather before coming for what to wear (generally jeans/shorts a t-shirt and a sweatshirt for the morning are all you need – maybe a hat, too). Bring some sunglasses, something to drink (though bottled water is available on the bus), a camera, and your wallet, and you’re all set. On sunny days (which is 85% of the year), you may want to bring some sunscreen and chapstick.

Do I need a ticket to get on the bus?

You must advance purchase tour tickets, although you don’t need to bring a printed ticket. Our greeters will check you in with the name on the reservation.

Are seats assigned? Can I sit with my family/friends?

Seats are first-come-first-served and we cannot guarantee that you will be seated next to your party. To maximize the likelihood that you will be able to sit together, we strongly recommend arriving early for check-in. All groups booking together will be placed on the same bus. If you have 2 or more reservations for your group please notify us in the comments section at the time of purchase so your group can be placed on the same bus.

How can I make a reservation?

You can book online or by calling us at 818-538-6287.

Is gratuity included in the price?

No. The standard tip is 15%-20% (or more if you were really happy with the service).

What languages do you offer the tour in?

Currently, we only offer our regular LA city tours in English. We do have Los Angeles private tours available in Spanish upon request.

Where is the closest RV park where we can be picked up?

The closest RV park is Dockweiler RV Park.

Do you pick up in downtown LA?

We do not pick up from downtown LA. The closest pickup location to you is in Hollywood at 7001 Hollywood Blvd (in front of the LALA Land Souvenir shop) at 8 am. OR – To avoid being on a hotel pickup bus for 1.5 hours you can meet the tour directly at the starting point in Santa Monica at 1537 2nd St., Santa Monica, CA 90401. You would need to be there no later than 9:30 am. You can also meet us in Santa Monica and end the tour at your last stop in Hollywood to be closer to your hotel! Let us know how you would like to proceed as soon as possible

Can I take public transportation to the tour starting location?

Yes, and we encourage you to do so! The new metro line to Santa Monica stops within 5 blocks of our meeting point in Santa Monica. You can plan your transportation using maps.google.com.

Do we get to visit any movie studios?

Studios are part of our Hollywood driving tour, so you certainly see them, but they aren’t stops.

When should I make my reservation?

We recommend booking as soon as you know the date you want to go on the tour. During popular travel times (summer, spring break, winter holidays, and breaks) our tours sell out every day, often well in advance.

Our tours are so popular because we provide the best experience in Los Angeles — guaranteed. Our full-day Los Angeles city tour and nearby areas is the top-rated tour on Yelp and TripAdvisor. Our tour doesn’t just have a five-star rating on those two highly respected review websites, either. It also has the same rating on Google and Facebook. If you want to experience LA with A Day in LA Tours, don’t delay! Click the Book Now button to make your reservations today.

Can I bring my luggage/stroller?

The buses are small and designed for passenger transport only so we cannot accommodate luggage or strollers. Daypacks are fine and are encouraged. We DO NOT store luggage

Are you insured/licensed?

Yes. We are fully insured and licensed by the state regulatory agency the California Public Utilities Commission (TCP# 27663). We encourage all guests to Los Angeles to check that every company is properly licensed and insured before booking any activity. You can search for a company’s passenger carrier license on the California PUC website. Unfortunately, many companies in Los Angeles do not comply with these requirements.

Are you hiring for positions?

We are always accepting good résumés for tour guides and drivers. Submit yours to jobs@adayinla.com.

Is it easy to get around LA without a car?

No – traffic patterns, congestion and parking costs make it time consuming and expensive.

How can I spend a few days in LA?

Take a tour with us !? Universal Studios, a day in Malibu, the Getty, Getty Villa, Santa Monica Beach and promenade.

Is Sunset Strip worth a visit?

It’s worth a driveby, not necessarily a stop – A lot of iconic spots like the House of Blues, the key club, and the viper room are now gone.

What are the best months to travel to Los Angeles?

All year, the weather is temperate all year with low rainfall.

"Perfect way to see LA"

"A perfect way to see a lot of LA in one day. Comfy tour bus, small groups and friendly knowledgeable guides. Free bottled water throughout the day and fruit and juice at time of boarding. The guide and driver gave plenty of commentary as we drove around then gives you some free time to explore..."

We chose them because of the rating, and maybe we had higher expectations.Pros:1. You see pretty much every touristy spot in LA in 8 hours2. The busses are modern3. Mike (I guess was his name) was a very positive and good vibe dude. Loved it. Too bad we didn't have the tour with him.4. Complementary water providedCons:1. It's not a guided tour. It's fairly similar to hop-on hop-off's as experience.2. The "tours" feel very rushed. For example:- In Venice Beach, you have to choose what you want to see. The canals or the Boardwalk or Gold'sGym. Can't do all in the time provided.- At the market, the same. If you take lunch, there is your time. You have no time remaining to stroll or see other things.3. John was mumbling very much, and it was really hard to follow what he said at all times. For parties of 2 or larger, I guess taking Uber/Lyft to all the spots would be cheaper than paying for this tour.I guess for parties of 4, there are far better solutions. In conclusion, I'm disappointed for the money spent, and I would definitely not recommend it and would not do it again.

An absolutely incredible tour of LA all in one day. So helpful, especially when you're only in LA for a few days, so you can see all the famous sights with travel costs of ubers or taxis cut way down, just by booking this tour. Not only that, but Jeff — tour guide extraordinaire — shared anecdotes of meeting famous people, the history of all the landmarks he drove us to, along with quizzing us playfully on our knowledge of pop culture by popping in a song and asking us who the artist was or asking which famous film won a certain Oscar in a specific year. We were taken along the Sunset Strip to Santa Monica and Venice Beach, Rodeo Drive, the Grove (and Farmer's Market), the Griffith Observatory (saw the Hollywood sign on the way), Dolby Theater and the Walk of Fame, and much more that was shown while we were riding on the bus. I recommend this tour to anyone who wants a crash course on LA and the history of: California, Hollywood, Beverly Hills, and more!

I had an amazing experience with Steven from Viator. As a first-time visitor, I was thrilled with how much we were able to see in such a short time. Steven ensured that we covered a lot of ground, making the most of our trip. Although I would have appreciated at least 45 minutes at both beaches to fully take in the scenery, the overall experience was still fantastic. Steven’s punctuality and professionalism stood out, and the car was comfortable, with plenty of water bottles provided throughout the journey. I highly recommend Steven and Viator to anyone looking for a reliable and enjoyable travel experience.

We had a great tour with Raul this week. He actually spends time as an actor so was able to point out some really cool things about Hollywood, and also grew up in the area, so was very knowledgeable both about the sites and navigating Los Angeles traffic. He kept the tour on time, and allowed enough time at each stop to take in the important things.

We took the tour yesterday and really enjoyed it. It really was a Day in LA. We hit all the iconic locations we wanted to see while travelling in an air conditioned, moderately sized bus with leather seats. Collin our tour guide was great and gave us a lot of good tips. We parked in the 1540 2nd street parking garage ($30) which was right across from the valet stand where the bus boards. The checkin is right in front of a tony shopping court and just 3 blocks from the Santa Monica pier. Even if you have more time than a day (which is all we had) to spend in LA, it’s worth it.

We had a great day with Monty. Super knowledgeable and great fun. We covered a lot of ground over a whole day and learnt so much, truly eye opening! I can’t recommend this tour enough!

The ideal tour for us. We did this on the first day in LA because we didn't want to drive ourselves with jet lag. Driven to all important sights. It was easy to realize that she is well versed in history and current eventsI can't imagine any other way to see and learn so much in one day on my own. This is everything my family would have wanted to have seen on our own. But I didn’t have to hassle driving the car around in traffic and missing all the cool sites. I didn’t have to hassle with finding public parking. I just got to sit back and relax and enjoy this amazing experience with my wife and 3 kids. Plus the people we interacted with were fantastic. Michael picked us up at our hotel and couldn’t have been kinder, even with the terrible construction out front of the Hilton. And Key was our knowledgeable and friendly tour guide for the day. Our whole family was thankful for this tour as we were trying to see all the sites in a short time. I will definitely recommend this to any of my friends or family visiting Los Angeles!

We spent the day with Rahul, who was so knowledgeable about all of LA, he passed on so much history so even when we couldn’t stop, we knew the local story. You don’t get ages to roam about each place but… to do it in a day is absolutely perfect. We would never have seen so much without this. Memories for a lifetime. Thank you!!! X

Where should I start??? First of all they tell you to be at the meeting place at a certain time, you get there and the tour bus WAS LATE. MY party was the first to arrive, and did that matter? The bus driver called larger parties to board FIRST! If this is to be the case, they should've STATED that when I booked! Their boarding policies are PATHETIC!!

Great way to visit all the popular places in LA, with a driver who knows all the detours when there are closed roads! In the evening it's a bit long to get back because of the traffic but at least you don't have to drive so that's great! Our driver George was very enthusiastic and really knew a lot about LA and its surroundings, I recommend him!

We are a family of 6 (3A + 3C) and booked a "Day in LA - Private Tour". Our guide was Monty who picked us up directly from our hotel at the appointed time. The car was spacious and he had almost unlimited water that he provided to us through the day.As it was a private tour we were able to customize places we visited, but left it to Monty's guidance. We visited Santa Monica pier, Hollywood Hills (houses of celebrities), Venice Beach, Studios, Griffith Observatory, Walk of Fame etc etc. In certain places we were dropped off and had the flexibility to discover the area in our own pace.In each location the guide was able to provide quite a bit of history and context and other interesting facts. He also tailored the topic to cater to my kids (including the little ones). Moreover, he was knowledgeable enough to answer any additional questions we had and provide more information.Monty also shared tips and recommendations for restaurants and other locations we should visit while in LA. He was a great guide and host and would highly recommend this tour to anyone else visiting LA.

Great tour! I’ve been to LA numerous times, but never to Santa Monica, Venice Beach, or Griffith Park, and really enjoyed seeing them. I learned so much and enjoyed every minute. The tour guide, Key, was fabulous. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience and look forward to visiting some of the places she told us about. Top tier tour!

Our tour guy was great and was so informative of all the things we could possibly do, see or eat. The bus was air conditioned and roomy. We covered a lot of ground and anyone who hasn't been to LA this tour is a must. It gives you an idea of what you may want to explore more on your own.

A great way of seeing LA top spots. We were only in town for a couple of days and wouldn’t have got to see half of this if we hadn’t gone on the tour.
